our laughter falls a note short of sincere these days
as we joke about the end of our world
Jim says "on tuesday, that's when Love leaves",
pause
-as if the knowledge wasn't already known,
"and good riddance too."
there was a false heap of agreements,
spit past clenched teeth.
we had only prepared thus far:
1. take a deep breath,
2. take the blow,
3. and hope for survival
dread chases after all our smiles;
knowing it's place in our hearts
so we cut our losses and fake our farewells
on a perfect day to leave.

Literature
urban lovers
at the edge of the city streets
two lovers sit side by side,
blanketed under the harsh gaze of the streetlights.
the city is made of filth and rot
and the night is warm with the excess of its sins.
the hazy air fills their lungs with smoke and dirt
and love,
and you cannot help but admire
these two stalwart champions, graced
by Eros himself,
lost in each other’s eyes as the city roars into life;
a modern love story.
Literature
Love
Swirling down in a pool of yearning,
A straining heart never learning,
War between desire and sense always burning,
Distinction twixt the two never discerning.
Nonsensical words spoken with adoring eyes,
Spoken from a heart soaring though azure skies,
Teddy bears, flowers, and fervent sighs,
Upon their every glance our existence lives and dies.
Skies darken, fervor fades,
Words spoken of darker shades,
Sense and reason compromise bades,
Learning to live together weeding out our foolish charades.
Trust and understanding grounded in tender affection,
Years stretching before in one direction,
Together, two hearts, without deception

Looking
I'm looking for somebody
That I can call my other half
He doesn't need to have muscular calves,
Or a chiselled jawline with cheekbones so dreamy
As long as he is pleasant to my eyes
Looks good wearing glasses or without it
Has good manners, won't resort to telling me white lies
I will love him whole, from his hard edges to his cuddly bits.
I'm looking for someone, my bene elim
Who I can dedicate the song "Somebody" by Depeche Mode
Martin Gore had sung all that I want to say to him
But still I wrote this because I'm in love & am plain bored
He will be my rock and my pillow
And I will share to him what makes me mellow
I will tell him about my

You know when the end is coming. You know it in the way; that the kisses don't last so long; that they don't grip on to you so tight; that you feel yourself saying maybe it's for the best.
